No Beaver, No Problem pt.4

November 10th, 2006 · No Comments

Hail friends and friends I haven’t met yet,
I am certain you have all been eagerly awaiting the next installment in my "other beers" series.  Well, wait no longer.  Grab a chilled Beaver (or Treadmill or Duff) and read on.
There is a very nice pilsner that I have enjoyed from time to time.  It has a light golden colour, if poured correctly it won’t foam up too much, it has a slight aftertaste just very faintly reminiscent of something that I have never quite been able to put my finger on, and it goes down smooth.  If it has one negative aspect it would be that it tends to pass through you a bit more quickly than than your average beer.  I am speaking of course of Weasel Wizz.  It’s produced by an independent brewery in the U.S. but it’s exported to many different countries.  I first became aware of this beer many years ago; a friend of mine had a Weasel Wizz t-shirt.  At the time I thought it was fake.  But then, just a couple of years ago, I was in a lounge and I saw a plaque on the wall; so I ordered one, assuming it was a joke, but the server brought me an actual bottle of Weasel Wizz.  I drank it and was pleasantly surprised by how good it actually was.  So, I would suggest you keep an eye open for it.
