Cooking with Booze

I guess I had it all wrong.
I thought cooking with alcohol meant you had a beer or drink while you cooked. That’s why I usually have a Blue Beaver Beer sitting next to the barbeque. It turns out you add the alcohol to the food!
I stayed in a quaint hotel once while working construction away from home at a place called Lodgepole. The place wasn’t all that great except for the cooking. The bartender/ owner/ cook would make these awesome meals for the special of the day. It was well worth eating in the bar attached to the hotel.
I will never forget the vermouth sauce that this guy would make about once a week. He would put it on burgers or steak. It was good stuff!
