Now you’re cooking with gas…I mean beer.
8.12.06 # 19:17 # Uncategorized # 2 CommentsDue to the overwhelming popularity of our post regarding cooking with alcohol, we felt that we should put up another recipe for all of you foodies out there. I found this one when I was looking around at the Food Network site.
Beer Sauce:
1 cup (250 ml) chilli sauce
3/4 cup (180 ml) brown sugar
1 cup (250 ml) tomato paste
2 cups (500 ml) plus 2 bottles Blue Beaver Beer
6 garlic cloves, chopped
4 tsp (20 ml) Dijon mustard
4 tsp (20 ml) Worcestershire sauce
2 tsp (10 ml) powdered ginger
1 tsp (5 ml) Cayenne pepper (optional)
1 tsp (5 ml) salt
In a saucepan, bring all the ingredients, except the two bottles of Blue Beaver, to a boil over medium heat while stirring. Drink one bottle of beer while stirring.
Simmer for 7 minutes. Drink second bottle of beer while simmering.
I encourage you to try this out you can pour it over your favorite type of meat like; chicken wings, beef spare ribs, or porcupine giblets before cooking. Then serve the meal with a chilled Blue Beaver. Let me know how it turns out for you.
