I read in Scientific American, Reports Special Edition on Diet and Health, that two drinks a day may increase your health, unclogging arteries and such. At the same time, the evidence is that many drinks is much worse for you than no drinks. So don’t use this news to go hog wild on the booze.
For those of us that just have a few, this good to hear. We don’t have to do anything and we are healthier than a goody two shoes who doesn’t drink. Ernie might have to slow down a little, though ( at least judging from pre – New years posting!). Who’d a thunk it, twelve beers a day might be bad for you!
In that same issue, there is an article that talks about restricting your calorie intake to extend your lifespan and stay healthier. This isn’t as great to hear for those of us who like bacon and beer.
Now, the only way these two articles are compatible is if you cut some empty calories in order to replace them with the two drinks, and take some multivitamins. I prefer Flintstones, but you can get whatever kind you want. As for empty calories, I suggest cutting all the soda pop from your diet. Right there for some people you’ve made enough room for two beer and a steak!
What they need to come out with is beer that has a diet suppressant and multivitamins built in. Then, all you have to do is take two medicinal beers per day. Now if we could just figure out some healthy bacon products to eat with that…

Hey, what do you call an extreme dieter who throws in the towel and gets some icecream?
A desserter!
