Another place that I have spent much time during my world travels is Etzikom. Etzikom is, as you know, the capital city of Uruguay. You would not believe how many dozens of tourists visit Etzikom every century. I did manage to arrive there during the off season so it wasn’t very crowded.
They have one of the most amazing golf courses there. Generally speaking I would rather hit myself over the head repeatedly with a golf club than actually play golf; but this is one course that turns everyone who sees it into a pro. It’s an incredible two hole – par 58 course. I ended up just 5 over par, which is my best score ever in the three times that I have played the time waster sport.
And then there’s the country club. There is nothing like it anywhere else in Etzikom. It’s a grand 144 square foot shack. The bar is a magnificent piece of architectural engineering consisting of two taps sticking out of the wall and single bottle of malt liquor. Unfortunately, due to certain trade embargoes, you cannot get Blue Beaver Beer there.
Nonetheless, I highly recommend that if you have only a week to live and you want to travel to a far away land before you die but you only have $117 to your name; you should go to Etzikom. That way you will die knowing that there are living people who have it worse than you.
