Edmonton MP Mike Lake has offered a very special petition in the House of Commons on behalf of constituent Todd Standing.  Mr. Standing claims that he has 12 seconds of video footage that proves the existence of Bigfoot.  He has turned the footage into a documentary film and now he is circulating a petition to provide legal protection for the creature.

With the petition going to the House of Commons Standing says, "Now that we’re in the nation’s business, people are going to start taking me seriously."   Standing is concerned that people will go out to hunt the beast, "When you have a Bigfoot discovery, men with guns show up."

So far the petition has been signed by 500 people,  the government has not yet responded to it though.

Apparently Mr. Standing has not been thorough enough in his research, he does not seem to be aware of the A.F.F.E.A.I.R.A.N.C.R.E.F.T.O.B.I.., the animal rights group run by my friend Ernie.  The Bigfoot population is being "controlled" by the Timber Wolves who were granted the right to bear arms in order to defend themselves from the Bigfoots (Bigfeet?).  If humans were to invade the territory of these two animals they might very well get caught in the crossfire.  The government really must take this into consideration before ruling on the petition.
