Tacos and Beer

Published on May 2, 2007 by in Current Affairs

A Mexican restaurant in Bigham City, Utah was recently broken into.  The thieves stole cash and cheques that had been prepared for deposit totaling about $3000.  Joe Cottam, the owner of Melina’s Fine Mexican Restaurant is now offering a 500 taco reward for information that leads to the arrest of the burglars.

"We’re offering a food reward because all the cash got taken."  The reward is worth about $1200.

I can only hope that the criminals flee all the way to Alberta and then decide to break into the Blue Beaver Brewery.  Then I’ll catch them and get enough food and beer for two weeks (well maybe I can stretch it out to seventeen days; that’s only 30 tacos/day).

  1. If the burglar turns himself in, does he get the food reward?

  2. Well I’m no lawyer, but I seem to recall something about criminals not be allowed to profit from their crimes. To bad though, all those tacos would make him rather unpopular in prison, which could be a very good thing.
