Last week’s rains left the river valley submerged. It rained for 3 days and nights, and even snowed in some areas. Water was running everywhere, and pooling in every hollow. The only thing most of us could do was crack a beer and turn on the T.V.
Here are a couple pics of the golf course. As you can see, it will be a little while before the course is open for anything but boating. The small bridge in the middle of the course is completely submerged, side rails and all, by several feet.
A few roads and bridges are underwater, as well as many farmer’s fields. Even the beavers are affected as they struggle to repair the damage (to their dams). Hopefully the weather is nice for a couple weeks to dry the mess up!
Most of this water will end up in Red Deer River, which winds its way over to Saskatchewan. Hopefully it won’t cause as much trouble over there.
