Mom’s Turkey Day

So, yesterday I wanted to do something special for my mom (seeing as it was her day and all), so I thought I would make some turkey burgers.  But first I had to go out and catch a wild turkey.  Unfortunately after a few straight shots of Wild Turkey, I changed my mind.  I just went down to the grocery store and picked up some ground turkey thigh which I then turned into burgers.  After my dad got his fire pit burned down to the exact right temperature we drank some Blue Beaver Beer; then we had to re-stoke the fire in order to barbeque the burgers.  Everyone enjoyed the meal, even young Booker had some purred burger which he washed down with his Blue Beaver Apple Juice.

After the meal we all sat around discussing a wide variety of subjects; current events, entertainment, religion, weather, reality television,  Paris Hilton; all of those things that appeal to a group of deep thinkers like my family.  Of course when you get a group of deep thinkers together there are bound to be topics that they disagree on.  Our family is no different.  My older sister and I feel very strongly that poor Katie Holmes and her baby are victims and  prisoners of Tom Cruise and his wacky made up religion.  My mother and my younger sister both believe that, despite what the tabloids say, the whole "Tom-Kat" family is a well adjusted and even happy family.  I had to agree that tabloids probably exaggerate the situation but, on the other hand, how could anyone be happy spending every waking moment with Tom Cruise, I mean really.  My father and Booker both withheld their opinions on the subject.  All in all it was another happy family get-together, due in no small part to the therapy that is Blue Beaver Beer.
