Recently in Sao Paulo, Brazil a beer taster successfully sued the brewery that employed him. The man claimed that he became an alcoholic after tasting up to 1.5 litres of beer per day. He felt that the brewery failed to provide adequate health measures to prevent his alcoholism. For more than 10 years the man drank 16 to 25 small glasses of beer every day.
The brewery alleged that the man was already an alcoholic. However, the court sided with the beer taster and awarded him the equivalent of about $54, 000.
If I won a settlement that large, I would buy enough Blue Beaver Beer to last me…well I can’t quite figure out the calculation, but I’m sure it would last me a couple of years.
