What do you see when you hear the words "animal products" in conjunction with candy? Over at The Strumpet I read about a decision to use certain animal products in the Mars Bar.
I see piles of useless bits off the cutting room floor all scraped into a pile and shoved into a grinder. I see yucky stuff in my food. I see chocolate covered insects and other things I would never eat knowingly.
to be clear, I’m not a vegetarian, and I know where my food comes from. I just don’t think we should start adding natural animal products to what I believed was completely man-made from vegetable fibers, fruit sugars and copious amounts of healthy chemicals. I want to know that only pure, synthetic chemicals are entering my body. It doesn’t matter that we don’t know the long term effects of Mars Bar consumption, or any other candy treat. Other than the milk in the milk chocolate, I want it to contain no animal products. I want only the wholesome goodness of chemicals and industrial flavorings and lots of em. That’s what I thought was in these products all along. I don’t want to find out that the delicious treat I ate hundreds of contains chicken brains or whatever.
And to reassure all of you out there, Blue Beaver Beer contains absolutely no beaver products. We don’t grind up the tail and add it to the brewing process. We leave all the beaver parts on the beaver where they belong. So remember, drink Blue Beaver Beer. When you’re feeling Blue, grab a beaver.
