A Horrible Disaster

BeertruckcrashThis is one of those nightmares you just can’t wake up from. The devastation is nearly beyond words. While Blue Beaver Beer was not involved in this crash, I feel the pain of any bystanders and, especially, the truck driver. I wonder what led to this incredible waste of beer?
My thinking is as follows. As you can see off to the right, leaves have fallen from the trees suggesting it is fall. The angle of the light seems to be early morning or an overcast day. The unbroken pavement lets us know that this definitely didn’t occur in Saskatchewan, but in a place with well maintained roads.
As well, you can see that the driver may have been careless in closing the back doors of his trailer. Several clues on the ground are evidence for improper back door sealing.
What can we do to prevent this from ever occurring again? Manage your risks. Only hire drivers with licenses, and never allow them free beer at work. Have strict rear van door closing policies, such as "Always make sure all van doors are sealed before leaving the dock."
Maybe I’m wrong and there was a crash resulting from a meteorite strike directly in front of the truck. Not much you can do about that one, except get out of the truck, look around for a beer that didn’t break, and drink it while you stand by the crater waiting for the authorities.
