I was already disillusioned from Myspace and all the ‘hot chick’ ‘ I want to be your friend’ spam I kept getting. Eventually my friend Gary signed up for it so I decided it might be worth my time as well. I wish I would have tried it sooner.
As far as I’m concerned, Facebook has Myspace beat hands down. It’s really easy to use and has several cool features that can be used by a blogger to put out the word.
You can use the notes function to import your blog posts and display them on your profile page. Here’s an example from my profile.
Each friend you try to add has to give you the okay. I don’t see a problem with that myself.
There is a lot you can do with Facebook. You can join a group and post on the message boards, upload photos for the group or arrange get-togethers in your local network or town. You can easily create your own group, just like the ‘Blue Beaver Beer Kicks A$$’ group I created earlier.
You can put all your photos on your page instead in easy to create online albums. It’s a really easy way to show your family and friends what Susie did yesterday with the puppy, or exactly how drunk Uncle Bob was at the reunion.
You can throw food at each other, give gift icons, poke each other or hand out virtual beer. There is a snapshot of food people have thrown at me below!
I have only used Facebook for a short time, but I am sure it is the missing link for me. This is the online application I was looking for!
