Suamico, Wisconsin recently held it’s 19th annual Beer Belly Two. “Athletes” come out every year to participate in the 3 km charity race in which beer is given out as a refresher instead of water. The race has raised more than US$350, 000 for local charities since it’s inception.
Of course Tim and I have been promoting the health benefits of Blue Beaver Beer for quite some time now. Admittedly, we never thought to use it as an incentive to run a race. However, now that the idea is out there maybe it should be explored a bit. I’m sure Blue Beaver can be used to get guys to do all kinds of things. I know that Nicole tells Tim he has to do the chores before he can have a cold one at home. If there was a couple of cans waiting at the curb guys would be happy to take out the garbage/recycling. Men would be more inclined to cook the evening meal if they were allowed to put beer in the food. You could probably even have him get up with the baby in the middle of the night if they could both have a bottle. And if a wife really wanted to go to the extreme should could tell her husband that if he renovated the house, he would be allowed to put in a bar so that he and his friends could have Blue Beaver Beer anytime they want. With the men pre-occupied the wives could all go out to a Tupper-ware party or to do a little skeet shooting or whatever it is that women do with their free time when there are no men around.
