Feeling A Little Retro

Published on July 1, 2007 by in Blogs

I recently came across a pretty nifty site called, Retrocrush. It’s especially interesting for any of us who suffered through our formative teen years during the 80′s.  They have a vast plethora of different things to check out on their site, but the one that caught my eye (and you know how painful that can be) was "The 100 Worst Cover Songs".

Some of these I whole heartedly agree with; #77 – I Will Always Love You by Whitney Houston and #10 – Piece of My Heart by Faith Hill.  Although in my opinion they should have been #2 and #1 respectively.  Some of them I have to disagree with; #93 – I Am The Walrus by Jim Carrey and #80 – Ballroom Blitz by Tia Carrere.  I really kind of liked those two.  In the latter case, though, I suppose it’s possible that I was partially deafened by Tia Carrere’s major hotness.  And then there were a few that I didn’t even know existed; #15 – You Shook Me All Night Long by Celine Dion and #64 – Tainted Love by The Pussy Cat Dolls.  I tried to listen to those two but it took less than 15 seconds before my ears started to bleed.

  1. I was born in the late 80′s but some 80′s music grew on me. I don’t agree with Whitney song on the list though :)

  2. I have to agree with Cherry I liked Whitneys version. I liked Dolly’s too though. Thanks for the info on the site.
