Good Luck on the Luckiest Day

Published on July 7, 2007 by in Uncategorized

As several of our readers are probably aware, today is July 7, 2007; also known as 7-7-07.  Due to the triple sevens a vast number of otherwise intelligent people have decided that today is the luckiest day ever.  Everyone is out there buying lottery tickets or playing games at the casino.  And a lot of fools are getting married today.  Now, I suppose if you believe today is extra lucky for you it most likely will appear to be so.  However, any "expert" on the subject will tell you that there is really no reason for today to be any luckier than any other day.  I was talking to Old Man Karhoffer recently (as you know he’s an expert on every subject) and he told me that the real luckiest day would have been the seventh of July in the year seven, 7-7-7.  The year 7-7-2007 would be tied for the second luckiest day ever with 7-7-1007.

If you should happen to believe that today is especially lucky for you, then by all means you ought to do something to take advantage of it.  If you like to gamble, then you might want to get married today.  If you like extreme thrills, why don’t you try strapping chocolate eclairs to your body and then crash a weight watchers convention.  Alternatively you could head on down to the tracks and bet on the train races; will #1 or #3 come in to the station first?  There are all kinds of different things you could do today to press you luck.  Just use your imagination and try something unconventional, you never know what sort of reward you may reap.
