A little while ago I happened to notice, in passing, that Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood looked and sounded somewhat alike. I thought it a bit of a "coincidence" that two young ladies that were so similar should both just "happen" to win American Idol. But I dismissed it as a paranoid conspiracy theory, until the other day. As I was channel surfing I happened to come across a video by Carrie Underwood entitled, "Before He Cheats". It starts out with her trashing her boyfriend’s car. I was very distinctly reminded of the Kelly Clarkson video, "Since U Been Gone", wherein she trashes her ex-boyfriend’s apartment. Coincidence or conspiracy? I know what my answer is.
Kelly is, as everyone knows, the very first American Idol winner. She has gone on to enjoy a great deal of success. However, I recall hearing somewhere that she would never appear on American Idol again because she wanted to be successful on her own not just as a part of that show. ( I didn’t really try to confirm this information by any means, but it sounds like it could be true.) So what were the producers of the show to do? Their biggest star disassociated herself from them, Reuben Studdard and Clay Aiken (I never could figure which of them actually won) were both going nowhere fast, and, according to Wikipedia, the season three winner was someone named Fantasia. Has she even released an album? I’ve never heard of her. At any rate it was obvious things were looking bleak.
So, what do they do? They created a clone of Kelly Clarkson, gave her a fake sounding name like Carrie Underwood and made her the season 4 winner. The main difference is that I have no doubt there is some clause in her contract that says she belongs, body and soul, to American Idol. But I have learned the truth and now all of our tens and tens of readers also know what goes on behind the scenes at the world biggest karaoke contest.

These people sadly have to sell their soul to get anywhere on these tv shows. If you try to leave, you are an ex person.

You are dead-on with this one, and I just said so on my blog, so you might begin to attract a bunch of women over 60 who secretly wish they were 35-year-old guys.

I used to be a secretary. Carrie Underwood was, I think, part of a typewriter.
Fantasia is on Broadway in something.
