Beer Bottles and Smurfs

Dear Ernie,
Do you prefer bottles or cans?
Rhonda the Bottle Lover in Calgary

Dear Rhonda-in-a-Bottle,
That is a very deep question. You can learn a lot about a person by examining the answer to that one question. Personally, I have become quite snooty in my old age. I only drink my beer out of a glass. This enhances the drinking experience because you can get the full range of the bouquet as well as the flavour. To me drinking beer right out of the bottle is the same as drinking wine out of the bottle, only a heathen would do it.

For this question I thought I might get a couple of other opinions on the subject. My Facebook friend, Lesley, had this to say: “Well you can shotgun cans….but you can break a bottle over someone’s head then cut them in the face with it after-wards…..hmm, tough choice.” I think it would be quite an impressive feat if you could break a can over someone’s head and then cut them in the face with it.

Hank Hill expressed this opinion, “Beer from a can always tastes two degrees colder than beer from a bottle, even if they’re the same temperature. I don’t know why I’m not a physicist, but I am a beer drinker.”

Dear Ernie,
If you choke a Smurf, what colour does it turn?
Gargamel in the Forest

Dear Garlic-smell,
First of all, there are laws protecting endangered species. As I recall, there were only 99 Smurfs to start with, but then Smurfette showed up to make an even 100 so that they could perform some special dance. Then after they “jumped the shark” they found Grandpa Smurf and the Smurflings. At any rate you had better not be caught choking any of them. But in answer to your question, obviously the colour they turn would be smurf.
