Chinese cat foodThis is just one of those urban legends, I’m sure. Of course, authentic Chinese food is prepared with a lot of ‘alternative’ ingredients that us North Americans wouldn’t enjoy knowing about. They might taste great, just like dried rhinoceros pizzle.

I know a few people that are so sure it’s true, they will never eat at a Chinese restaurant. They may have heard The Cat’s in The Kettle, a spoof song to the tune The Cat’s In The Cradle.
I’ve heard others say, ” I love cats. They taste great!” I’ve seen t-shirts with ‘Cat: The Other White Meat’
A few years ago, a Chinese restaurant in Edmonton, Alberta was shut down when it was discovered there were coyote carcases in the freezer. Supposedly, the meat was for family use only. This kind of thing only helps the myth along.
And then there’s The Other Other White Meat……

Rest assured, you won’t find any cat meat in food or appetizers prepared at the Redneck Bar and Grill. We find rat imported from New York to be much tastier and easier to prepare!

If you live next door to a Chinese restaurant, you may want to get your pet the best cat insurance money can buy, just in case.
