Beer drinkers in Mississauga, Ontario woke up on Wednesday to some horrifying news. Two tractor-trailers carrying 70, 000 cans and 44, 000 bottles of Moosehead Lager were stolen in the early morning from a transport company’s facility. The beer company says the retail value of the beer is $20, 000.
Company spokesman, Joel Levesque, issued the following statement, "Moosehead drinkers in Ontario would be wise to stock up today. We expect it may take until early next week to replenish the stolen beer."
This is the second time in three years that Moosehead has been stolen. In August 2004, a truck containing 50, 000 cans bound for Mexico was stolen. Only 14, 000 were ever recovered.
I can understand why this might happen. Moosehead is a reasonably good beer. If you got some guys together who were already criminally inclined and they found themselves short on cash to buy beer, they would really have only two options. Steal some cash in order to buy more beer or, skip the middle man and just steal beer.
Fortunately, this could never happen with Blue Beaver Beer. It is shipped with such great secrecy and security, that no one on Earth could ever possibly be able to steal so much as one bottle.
