This Pollution Must Stop

I would like to bring out into the open a very important environmental concern.  It is something I have been seeing quite a lot of in the past couple of months, however I think it is being overlooked by most environmental groups.  One of the direct results of this problem is a large number of extra trees are being felled to provide the material resources that these anti-environmentalists require for their projects.  As well, it should be noted, that these people are using certain toxic chemicals in the production of their projects.  These things are then being put directly into the ground and, so far as I am aware, no one has determined what effects they have on the grass, trees and wildlife in the vicinity.  Although I personally have only witnessed this problem here in Red Deer, I have heard reports in the media that it is occurring all over our province right now.  Yet no one has reported the fact that these anti-environmentalists are willfully and deliberately polluting our beautiful land.

The problem that I am speaking of is none other than the dozens of political signs that have gone up all over Red Deer in regards to the upcoming municipal election.  How much wood has been used in their production?  What about the paint on them, do we know for certain that it is non-toxic?  I travel along Taylor Drive nearly every day (usually on my bicycle) and I find it almost physically painful to endure all of the visual pollution that’s out there.

If any politicians out there want my vote in this election this is what you need to do: take down all of your party’s signs, ensure that all materials in the signs are properly recycled, promise not to put up any signs in the future, and promise, if you are elected, to enact legislation banning the use of political signs.  That’s all.  I feel that everyone needs to be aware of this heinous problem.  Thank-you.
