Since I saw this picture, I just can’t stop saying Tofurky! It might be delicious. I almost want to try it. Still, hard to see this in the average home.
Picture it. Sicily, 1942. (Golden Girls quote for you younger crowd, just ignore it)
Mother spends all day cooking. She gets up early to stuff the Tofurky and put it in the oven, then starts preparing all the other holiday food items. As the day moves on, the delicious aroma of roasting Tofurky fills the air in this quaint traditional home. The children run through occasionally to try and steal something off the appetizer platter. The father comes in to grab another case of Blue Beaver Beer to take out to the garage where he is restoring the Ford Festiva he was so proud of as a teenager. “Man, that Tofurky smells good. When’s dinner?” he asks.
Later, he carves the Tofurky and everything is ready. Tofurky dinner is served.
After eating, everyone is so full of Tofurky and mashed soytatoes they can barely move. But this family loves Tofurky so much that they will cook another roast tomorrow, just so they can have Tofurky sandwiches this week.
Tofurky. A delicious vegetarian roast. Now everyone’s holiday meal will be complete. Pass me some of that dried rhinoceros pizzle from that beer gift basket, will you?
