What meme would be complete without everybody’s 2 cents worth? Canuckle Head might get more than he bargained for! I don’t have the fortitude to answer ‘em all right now, so here’s my few. And no, I’m not going to pass this on. If you want, you can grab it and go. Ernie has the complete set of questions in his post.

1. Wrapping or gift bags?

I’ve always wanted to buy gift cards, then put them each in a gift bag, then wrap each bag with gift paper, and then newspaper. For those I don’t like, I would leave out the gift card and just give them a bag. If I’m ever stuck for ideas, you know what you’ll be getting from me!

2. Real or artificial tree?

Usually we have a really artificial tree. This year we murdered a baby spruce and adorned our dining room with it’s corpse.

4. When do you take the tree down?

When its dead body parts (needles) start dropping off, sorta like zombie tree parts.

8. Worst Christmas gift you ever received?

I got the mumps for Christmas when I was seven. I enjoyed them so much, I passed it on to the rest of the family. Infectious disease, the gift that keeps on giving!

11. When do you start shopping for Christmas?

I agree with Ernie on this one. Never before December 1st and never after January 1st.

12. Favourite thing to eat at Christmas?

I wanna say roast Tofurky & Soytatoes, but I haven’t tried that yet! I like fruitcake, rum filled candies and all the goodies that put on the pounds.

13. Clear lights or coloured on the tree?

Coloured & clear. And yes, we spell coloured and favourite with a ‘u’ in Canada.

14. Favourite Christmas song(s)?

Twelve Days of Christmas by Bob & Doug McKenzie.

15. Travel at Christmas or stay home?

We travel to my inlaws every other year, 8 hours drive to Fort Mac. This year we get to stay home and rest.

18. Open the presents Christmas Eve or Christmas Morning?

Christmas morning

19. Most annoying thing about this time of year?

Rude people out shopping.

20. Do you decorate your tree in any specific theme or colour?

This one is my wife’s department, so it is silver, blue and purple this year. If I ever get a turn it will be multicoloured, overdecorated, gaudy and bright.
21. What do you leave for Santa?

We used to leave him hotwings and beer, until we found out he was getting the ‘burning ring of fire’, and frequent bathroom breaks were slowing him down. Now we just leave out a Blue Beaver Beer.
22. Least favourite holiday song?

That annoying one about the missing two front teeth. Some genius must have thought for hours to come up with that one.

23. Favourite ornament?

Ernie gave me a gargoyle holding a snowglobe one year. I like to shake it and watch the flakes swirl, and think of that Stephen King movie where a gargoyle brutally murdered her human lover. Then I carefully place it on the mantle above the stockings, with care.
