I’m not sure how many of you have heard about this. As of January 1st the province of Alberta has implemented new smoking regulations. It is now forbidden to smoke in any public place or work place and even if you are outside you must be at least 5 metres (16 feet) away from any doors or windows of any public place. The penalties for breaking this new law are quite harsh. For a first offence – a fine of not more than $1000, for a second offence – a fine of not more than $5000, for a third offence the police will taser you repeatedly until you agree to never smoke again; plus, while you still smell of cigarette smoke, you will be put into a jail where they have banned smoking and you will subsequently be passed around to all of the inmates until the scent is gone.

Yeah, they did that here in N.B., but instead of tassering you, they just make you watch British Television.

I don’t know, being passed around is probably worse, I think…

LOL – but seriously, how long before smoking DOES become a tasering offence?
