Okay, I heard about this one on the radio yesterday.  As far as I could tell, they were being serious.  Apparently, you can get some sort of a plug in air freshener that will also connect to your cell phone.  You purchase a scent-download and the phone transfers a code to your air freshener.  The air freshener mixes some chemicals according to the code and then your scent is produced.

According to the report I heard, this is new experimental technology that is just hitting the market in (where else) Japan.  I did a little digging on the internet (and by little I mean I looked at two pages of search results) and I could only find this article in The Onion; and, as we all know, The Onion is just slightly more factual than The Weekly World News.  I know our Beer Buddy Canucklehead will be interested in the bacon ring-scent; but then again, who wouldn’t be?

Yeah, but do they have one that smells like blue Beaver beer?

If you take your phone out to the pub and spill a little on it, you can achieve Blue Beaver Beer scent without any added technology. Just don’t submerge the phone or you will be buying a new one.

Good Lord, what will they think of next?
