I was just watching t.v., looking for some inspiration and, luckily, I found it. I stumbled across the video for the song “Stupid” by Girlicious (not to be confused with “Stupid Girls” or “Stupid Girl”; this song is totally different). I was immediately struck by how well choreographed the video was. The girls were all gyrating like high class “exotic dancers” as opposed to the cheap-stripper-like motions of, say, Christina Aguilera.
The next thing that caught my attention was the costumes. Clearly the wardrobe department spent a lot of time ensuring that the girls plaid mini-skirts were just short enough that their underwear was easily exposed every-time they thrust their buttocks back. And speaking of buttocks, these young ladies are in very good shape. I can only assume that they have some expert teaching them how to binge and purge properly in order to maintain their emaciated figures.
I would be remiss if I neglected to point out the brilliant vision of the director of this video. His idea to start out with the scantily clad girls “dancing” in the street and on a car, then getting a large group of girls together and having them all strip down to their bras and panties before moving the four stars into a bedroom where they would continue to “dance”; really showed his genius. Then ending the video with the girls jumping on a bed having a pillow fight; now that was truly awe inspiring. This video really moved (certain parts of) me. In fact the video was so well done that it was only until after I had, um…calmed down that I realized I didn’t even notice the music or the lyrics. Which is good, because who needs that sort of stuff distracting you when you’re trying to enjoy a video like this.
Okay, so after I wrote this I went and looked for the video online. Apparently it’s actually called “Stupid Sh*t”; not that it changes my opinion in any way. I guess I must be kind of tired out though, because watching the video again less than 20 minutes after the first time I just wasn’t…moved in the same way. Maybe later.
It seems to be a totally different concept from what we see these days. Glad you could take the trouble to review this for the benefit of your readers

You know I like reading this blog because of your video picks, but I can’t believe you’re condoning vandalism. Didn’t you see those bad girls spray-painting graffiti on the car? Am I the only person around here that believes in the law? Those girls need a spanking! Am I going to have to do that too? Well, if I must. Echoes of Catholic school uniforms in that plaid, and the little blue ties, tryin’ so doggone hard and all: look maybe it’s just me, but might we be seeing a newfound respect for all things intellectual? We could call it the New Academia. Correct me if I’m wrong, but there was no misspelled graffiti at ALL in the video. I see hope for our civilization here, and if the young ladies see fit to gyrate a little to get their point across, I for one am going with the flow.
This group comes from the same creator as the Pussycat Dolls. They had a reality show to cast all the girls and I watched it for um, the “talent”.
Still, after seeing the group formed, I’m kind of disgusted at how slutty they got. Barely legal teens dressed up as school girls? I got standards.
Mature confident women shaking their thang is all good but just say no to jailbait.

Reminds me of the Fergie video where she has every outfit that men dream about. School girl and anything else most men would like to see. I guess the director or producer knows how to get attention from certain groups.
I think the costumes if you want to call them that, are some of the best I have ever seen for a video. I’m sure that will get the attention of potential viewers with costumes that are so easy on the eyes.
I wouldn’t be surprised if we see many girls dressing up in costumes like this for Halloween.

Guys, I think these videos are already commonplace and no fun. In any half-naked girls video and next to each clip, clothes on them less and less:) We need fresh ideas. But the scene with “pillows on the bed,” I liked it!
There are so many tawdry attempts at music video out there now. It’s great to see something with a bit more style for once.
