I have the same problem with spammers on my blogs which are selling viagra and other stuff, once when I was tired of them I simple blocked a range of IP from accessing my sites, so nowdays no Russians and Indians allowed, and I leave in peace.

Yes, sometimes I get 100′s of comments in my Akismet, thanks to Akismet, otherwise how can I keep on deleting every individual comments.

i think you are very clear about your spam rules since many people post spam comments without reading the rules and didn’t get the approval. so its better to comment in proper manner.

There is a old saying from the east which goes like this ” even though you got ocean to drink, why do you lick like a dog?” That is what comes to my mind when I hear about stupid people who dont know how to use the plugin keywordluv efficiently.. I really dont understand those people’s logic in hiding their name and filling the name field with crappy search phrases alone. I have my real estate blog and have both keywordluv and commentluv and I get more than 50 comments like this. really tired of these useless guys.. I just flush them out totally without even considering what they have said.

While I enjoy using KeywordLuv and DoFollow blogs for backlinks, I also respect the comment rules of those sites.

Usually by using a name and your keywords, and by posting real comments that contribute to the conversation you can meet 98% of any rules on any random site. I probably spend twice as much time reading the post as I do making the comment.

It might be fun to start a recurring feature on the site about the funny comments you get from people not following the rules. I bet that feature would be read often.

I know what you mean about the spammers. I use the pluggin called Akismet to block some of the spam. The only thing is that it sometimes blocks lagitimate comments. It also blocks the real good spam! Like the funny ones that your like ” What is this guy talking about!

I would love to try keywordluv, but then I know that when the spammers search for “keywordluv + keyword” those bastards will find me. As an experiment I disabled the nofollow attribute on a wordpress blog I have, and only mention “dofollow” on an image. That way, they can’t find me that easy!
